Epic Games, the developer of the upcoming Gears of War 3 has announced that this third person shooter game’s launch will be delayed until the holiday season of 2011. This is not some good news for the fans of the series. The said announcement was made through the game’s official website just recently. Although the reason behind the delay is quite unclear, it seems that the company only needs some more time in the finalization of this upcoming video game.
The Gears of War 3 apparently is the exciting conclusion of one of the most celebrated sagas in video games. This spectacular game was published by Microsoft Games Studios and especially designed for the Xbox 360. Originally this video game was scheduled for release on April, 2011, but because of the recent announcements made, Gears of War fans will have to wait until late next year.
Basically, the Gears of War will feature a four-player co-op mode as well as the introduction of three playable female characters namely Samantha Byrne, Anya Stroud and Bernadette Mataki. It will also include another playable character in the person of Jace Stratton, a battle-hardened soldier who was also mentioned in the second series and likewise appears in the comic series of this game.
The Gear of Wars 3 is apparently the third installment of the series and will also feature new weapons such as a double barreled shotgun as well as a Pendelum War Era Lancer with a normal bayonet attached. This upcoming game will also feature a fully controllable Mech suit that will be available for use in certain parts of the game and will also feature new moves as well that will include the ability to swap weapons with squad mates, knock over enemies and even kick Lambent enemies away.
Aside from these new features mentioned, the Gears of War 3 also comes with an improved cover system as well as a new mode called the Beast mode. The Beast Mode is apparently the opposite of the Horde Mode featured in the second series of this upcoming game.
The game’s setting will focus eighteen months after the fall of the last human city where the war against the Locust continues. The presence of a fearsome new threat infecting the planet where survivors are scattered and civilization ruins will definitely be a great challenge for Marcus and his comrades as they fight to save the human race.
This upcoming game seems to be very exciting and it would not be surprising if many Gears of War fans will really look forward to this upcoming game. Epic will apparently hold a press event at its headquarter to give more details about this upcoming video game, so watch out for it. Prices for this game differ depending on the country. Expected price in the US will be around $ 59.99.
